Service, domestic, and social robotics
Hospitality Robots
Hospitality robots transport items through hotels and similar buildings. Delivering a towel to a floor requires a usable route, a lift interface and a handoff at the destination.
How these robots work
A delivery task joins navigation with building equipment and notifications. The robot must reach the correct floor before asking a guest or employee to collect the item.
How to compare the task
For hotel delivery, compare completed guest handoffs rather than distance traveled. A robot reaching the lift lobby has completed only part of the request.
Examples and applications
- Room amenity delivery
- Linen transport
- Staff supply runs
Limits of this category
- Lift or door integration may be needed.
- A delivery platform does not establish housekeeping or conversation ability.
What to check for the intended task
- Test lift access during busy periods
- Time a room delivery including guest response
- Record recovery from a closed corridor
