Separating a humanoid debut from an industrial deployment
IONO provides a documented Austrian humanoid programme through WORKMATE. Its May 2026 presentation introduced a modular system with a detachable drone head, an operating software layer and a sensor-suit concept. These are the developer’s announced capabilities, not independently measured production results.
WORKMATE made its public debut in Linz on 26 May 2026. The following day’s company release names founder Ümit Bas and describes pilot partners in Austria, Germany and Italy. A public debut establishes a milestone in development. It does not establish the company’s incorporation date, a commercial shipment total or a certified operating environment.
Questions worth asking
Ask for a continuous recording of the proposed task, the number of interventions and the permitted operating area. Clarify which functions belong to WORKMATE itself and which require IONOSPHERE services, external infrastructure or human control.
This page contains 1 directory records connected to Austria. It is a selection, not a ranking or a count of the country’s entire robotics industry. Founders and financial research are still incomplete for some profiles. Existing source dates are preserved.
Revenue measures sales over a reporting period. Funding is capital raised. A valuation belongs to a dated transaction or market measurement. Contract values, acquisition prices and production targets are labelled separately. Parent-company results are not attributed to a robotics subsidiary.
Company sources document what a supplier says or reports. They do not turn product claims into independent tests. The project questions are editorial evaluation criteria rather than reported results.
