A humanoid programme inside an automotive-technology group
Mentee Robotics develops humanoid technology and now operates under Mobileye. Its work connects simulation-based learning with a physical robot platform. A programme backed by a larger company can gain engineering resources, but ownership alone does not prove reliability in a customer workplace.
Mobileye announced an agreement to acquire Mentee in January 2026 and its filing records completion on 3 February 2026. The announced transaction value was about US$900 million. That historical deal headline is not a current standalone valuation or robotics revenue. The announcement’s 2026 customer proofs of concept and 2028 series-production plan are milestones and targets, not completed deployments.
Questions worth asking
Ask which tasks are supported in the current release and what remains on the roadmap. For a pilot, define required human assistance, recovery from failed grasps and the conditions under which the machine must stop.
