Humanoid Robot Failure Modes and Reported Exposure

Seven records describe reported outcomes and failure categories. They do not form a comparable failure-frequency chart.

  1. AgiBot A2 Ultra

    Fall
    Count
    0
    Exposure
    Not recorded
    Severity
    High
    Intervention
None reported for this failure mode

The manufacturer lists a 5,100-hour walking test and a zero-fall statement, but does not tie that zero-fall claim to a session log covering all 5,100 hours. No exposure denominator is assigned.

Methodology

How the dataset is built

Explicit manufacturer claims and named failure categories are retained with their source. An exposure value is recorded only when the source ties it to that claim. These records contain no comparable event log and are not converted to failure frequencies.

Editorial analysis

A taxonomy is different from a failure log

Five records name errors retained in the AGIBOT World dataset, including missed grasps and dropped objects. Their counts are unrecorded. The existence of a category does not tell readers how frequently it occurred.

Zero observed events needs an exposure measure

The other records describe manufacturer validation claims. The denominators use different exposure measures and should not be combined. Zero reported events within a stated observation window does not establish a zero probability of future failure.

What a useful failure comparison requires

A comparison needs a consistent event definition, observation period, workload and intervention policy. Severity and event count should remain separate. Until a comparable log is available, this page remains an evidence note rather than a Pareto ranking.

Frequently asked questions

Can the listed categories be ordered by frequency?

No. Their counts and comparable exposure denominators are not available.
