Methodology

How the dataset is built

Each payload row keeps its own definition and test condition. Rated load, peak load, per-arm load and total carried payload are not merged. Converted imperial values retain the original figure in the row.

Editorial analysis

One robot can have two valid load values

Unitree H1-2 appears twice because its rated arm load and peak arm load answer different questions. Treating those rows as interchangeable would make the same hardware appear to have two contradictory capacities.

Reach changes the comparison

The TALOS and REEM-C entries specify an extended arm. Other records do not establish posture or duration. Before comparing payload relative to body mass, match whether the measurement concerns one arm, both arms, a brief lift or sustained carrying.

Choose a task before choosing a ratio

A useful handling assessment starts with the object and route. Add the gripper’s mass, establish the required reach and determine whether the robot must walk while carrying. The table preserves published loads, but those values alone cannot establish performance for that complete sequence.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no single payload-to-weight leaderboard?

The 11 observations mix peak, rated, per-arm and overall loads under different or incomplete test conditions.
